Fixed vs Growth Mindset
All of us can think of excuses not to follow-through with our fitness goals - those monthly resolutions we make. It’s normal to find reasons not to get to the gym or find something healthy to eat. The key to overcoming those obstacles is all in your mind.
Do you have a fixed or growth mindset? A fixed mindset is where you think you’ll never be able to change, and if you slip on your goals you’ve failed. A growth mindset is one in which you see yourself as fluid, a work in progress.
That’s what we all are – works in progress. So when you slip on your goals focus on what you’ve already accomplished and the progress you’ve made. Don’t let negative self-talk take over your thoughts. Use your mind to reinforce the goals you’ve set and the fact that you’re on a path of growth and opportunity.
