Getting in better shape doesn't have to be expensive or time consuming. In fact...did you know that simply walking is a great way to boost your metabolism and work your core? To encourage downtowners to get out and WALK, the independent fitness centers of Main Street have partnered with the Downtown Memphis Commission to provide an opportunity to exercise in a quick, fun and completely free way!
HOW DOES IT WORK?
Next time you're on your way to Wednesday lunch, you may notice some new signage on Main Street... Those are mile markers! Every Wednesday, from 11am-1pm, we'll turn Main Street into one big walking track for Memphians to get their steps in. We take the guessing out of how far you've walked by putting mileage markers every quarter mile. All you have to do is slip on your comfy sneakers and start stepping! How easy is that??

BONUS: Log your mileage through a wellness app (we'll post some of our favorite free suggestions below) and post on social media for a chance to win monthly prizes from our independent fitness sponsors! EVERY DAY logged is a new chance to win! Meaning, you can post each day of the month!
